Today is our 11th Wedding Anniversary...

I just thought of posting this today to say that I am truly blessed to have spent the greater part of my life with him and I look forward to all the wonderful years still to come...

I bought him "not on the high street " gift but it's really lovely present which i think he might use it everyday..(he likes to sit and enjoy nice cuppa coffee while studying)

I love the quote on this mug because for me in marriage whether it's a magical day out there or the worst race of your life...you still have to KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON!

Last month I made a stop at one of beautiful interior shop in Edinburgh. I'm amazed at all the things they have! Want to take a peek?...

Their displays were fabulous and the items in the store were even more amazing in person. I'm soo glad they featured Greengate! One of my favourite brand from Danish company.

Everything in this shop is absolutely adorable including these eye-candy melamine beaker and the stoneware Spot Yellow jug.

Breath of Spring

It's Spring time in Manchester but we had wet and cold weather for the past 2 weeks. The weather kinda cloudy these days and the rain fall unstoppably...It seems that our winter is everlasting. I feel like napping under the blanket again after the last snow...

This was my first experience of Spring...and this season brings the thought of flowers. Spring is so beautiful and inspiring for me. We've had beautiful sunshine in April and been out to some great parks to snap nice pictures ...I decided to make a post and share with you.

Lena Liu ~ Humming Birds Treasury Collection

I love pretty floral plate and here is a lovely Lena Liu floral plate from the Humming Birds Treasury collection offered in my store. This collection have 8 different design featuring beautiful hummingbirds species but I am listing only 4 plates from this series.

This is a Lena Liu limited edition plate entitled The Ruby-throated Hummingbird which was the first issue in the Lena Liu's Hummingbird Treasury Collection. The plate is 8 inch in diameter.

Plate is registered with The Bradford Exchange under Bradex No.84-G20-71.1 and numbered 7540H.

Crafted in the fine porcelain from an original work, painted on silk and issued in an edition strictly limited to a max of 150 firing days. This is the second issue in the collector's plate series entitled The Anna's Hummingbird.

The third plate in a series is The Violet-Crowned Hummingbird. This W. S. George Series of plates is beautifully enhanced by the shimmering gold highlights on the plate, really a stunning set of plates!

Rose Is Love...

This week we offer breathtaking and high quality reproduction print from Victorian era. This print is by Belgian artist, Jean Baptiste Robie known as J Robie. The artwork is superb and the colors just incredibly beautiful.

Hunting In INACRAFT

The following pictures were taken last month when I went to INACRAFT 2010 in Jakarta. They called it "The Biggest and The Most Complete Exhibition of Gifts and Housewares". I went there couples of times. It was really great exhibition with hundreds of booth, lots of vendors and wide selection of good stuff. I usually spend few days at Inacraft, hunting for treasures...

This journey brought me to explore products ranging from gift item, houseware & home decorative, toys & game, jewellery, batik and fashion garments & embroidery.

It is indeed a very good trade fair to have a glimpse on Indonesian handicrafts and also their culture...

After registered at the counter, it was time to check out all the booths and doing a little shopping... This booth from Putri highlighted vibrant colors of artificial flowers.

Maharani booth sells fine embroidery and lace on linen.

The booth is one of the must-sees at INACRAFT for lace and stitching enthusisasts. There are several affordable pieces from small purses to table runners.

These amazing crochet shoes come in many colors and styles. They are each handmade.

Margriet offers beautiful embroidery used as home furnishings.

With the tag line "...Bring the art for you", Margriet simply has the magical finishing touches to all the displays and decorations.

Intricate embroidery, you can see the craftwork and quality. Really beautiful!

They also have cute stuff, especially the handmade rag dolls, which are in excellent quality at a reasonable price. It's like a combination of vintage buttons and yarns. Beautifully coordinated from head to toe.

I really adore the look of that embroidery rosey table cloth.

This outlet has everything from wonderful bags to glassware, antiques and more.

They sell colorful and stylish hand made bags. They're made out of wicker or rattan basket and embellished with patchwork and beads accessories.

If you wanna add charm and style to your home, this outlet has everything. They had an eye-catching display showcasing lots of knick knacks, toys and collectibles.

They have something for your little ones...

Animal figurine soft toys

There were many wonderful selection and beautiful works of art from this booth. They're not cheap either. Some large and finely detailed pieces may cost up to millions of Rupiah.

I just love this pretty LOVE quilt cushions. They will make great sofa cushions.

This throw cushion is sooo pretty...with the right soft, faded colours, embellished with white lace and rosey gorgeous design.

After spend quite a long time wandering around inside the shop, i ended buying this masterpiece...

A collection of blue and white china were made into quilt from hand embroidery applique.

Country Cottage Frame...

Red Transferware

Red transferware is quite popular today. I've been lucky to find such a darling set. It took a lot of trips to gather that many dishes...

I don't collect a certain pattern, I love having pieces in different patterns.

I do mix my red transferware with lots of other things though. The Spode mug I bought in Singapore, the Johnson Bros oval platter found at Regent St London and the Staffordshireware from flea market.

Anyway, that's my little corner cabinet. I tend to change out the dishes here a few times a year. Right now, the cabinet is filled with red transferware, rose bouquet tableware and some Royal Albert Crown China.

I love toile and transferware together! I bought this red French Toile fabrics in Korea some time ago.. You can pair transferware with toile fabric for an elegant French decor.

This is a Barratt's, England red transferware made in the Elizabethan pattern. Beautiful vintage saucer with a very detailed rural landscape scene, cows standing in front of an old English cottage, surrounded by gorgeous flowers.

Rich deep pinky red toile plate with stunning cottage motif. Made in Staffordshire England.

This is a mug in Spode's newest Christmas pattern called Winter's Eve. This mug are almost 3.5" tall and 3 in diameter. In stock: 2. Pls click here for prices.

This vintage transferware serving platter was manufactured by Johnson Brothers of England. It features the popular "Old Britain Castles" pattern in the most common red/pink color. The scalloped rim is decorated with an ornate border and leafy scrolls. Measures approx. 15.25" by 12.75". Available on my website here.

Another item that was sold some time ago...Teaset of 11 pieces from Johnson Bros. I really like the teapot which is exemplifies of high-style tea service.

A pretty coffee set for display or use. Standing on little feet, the shape is very traditional, and will go with any classic decor..already sold.

Hard to find. Wonderful piece of pink tureen in the Old Britain Castles pattern made by Johnson Brothers.

My Everyday Gadget

What tool, equipment and accessories can you not live without? Here’s a look at some of my every day gadget.

I consider my Nokia N97 mobile phone just a normal everyday gadget i have to carry around with me even in the house. I enjoy browsing with the help of that great touchscreen.

Dell Vostro 1520 laptop with 15.4" widescreen display, is targeted towards small to medium-sized entrepreneurs like me. So since i work in online business, this device is good enough for my daily activities such as blog-walking, web-surfing, editing images and of course watching Korean movies...

As for now, i'm using Canon Powershot SX110is, a great camera, that's for sure...

To tell you the truth, I'm eye-ing on Canon DSLR...I like having both because I think they compliment each other and each are suited for different situations. I want to shoot more quality pictures with the DSLR...Should i buy a DSLR or not?

The best way to ensure I remember my life is probably to keep a diary. I don´t only write about 'things i should do today' but also about my customers orders and jot down a little things and thoughts that i might be forget it later.

Lately, i noticed that it seems there's a display of blue and white china in just about every store i enter and every country magazine i read.

So, I have started collecting blue and white china because these collection has always been favored...My blue and white collection now has pricey Spode items and inexpensive gift shop finds.

Blue and white makes a stunning grouped display.

Some of the collection was bought during my visit to London last year especially the Spode Blue Italian, Johnson Brothers Old Britain Castles and Portmeirion Botanic Blue.

Adding blue and white is a perfect mix.

For me, collecting blue and white shouldn't become a burden...it is meant to be a relaxing past time and it can be real fun just browsing around for that special pieces that has caught your attention and specially your pocket..:)

It feels so exciting and satisfying when you stumble across the very piece you've been looking for over a long period of time!

FYI, the appealing color of blue and white combination not only adds endless beauty to your lovely china pieces..but also into the interior decor, table settings, enamelware etc.

Up in the Air...

Last Thursday, we went to Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta to see 23 specially designed hot air balloons from around the world. It was good and damn hot!

Upon arrival many balloons have taken off as they started inflating as early as 7.00am while we arrived at 8.30am. Some of the participating balloons floats over the lake.

Thank God for the perfectly fine weather with blue sky and sparkling sunlight. The event was held at the car park area of the Monumen Alaf Baru at Presint 2, Putrajaya

London Mini Tea Set

I added some wonderful new London China Tea Set to the store. Please look through my website here!

We have a delightful MEMORIES OF LONDON miniature tea set with a gold band round each piece. The set consists of teapot, sugar bowl with lid, creamer, 2 cups & saucers and a matching tray. They are beautifully illustrated with famous London landmarks.

Stunning mini teapot featuring view of Britain's historic tourist attractions with the Changing of the Guard at Royal Buckingham Palace. The teapot is 9cm high & 11cm wide including handle & spout.

This creamer is 4cm high and 5cm wide and decorated with Tower Bridge.

The sugar bowl is 6cm in height (inc. lid) and 8.5cm across the handles.

Both cups and saucers shows Westminster Abbey and are about 4cm in height and almost 4.5cm across the top, and the saucers are 5.5cm across.

The tray measures approximately 14cm x 14cm just to give you an idea on size.

This lovely little tea set has 2 cups and saucers, 1 teapot, 1 covered sugar bowl and 1 milk jug each depicting historical scenes from London. This set is unique because they have tiny gold footing.

The teapot has Big Ben on the front. Size: 9cm high and 11cm wide.

The milk jug has Westminster Abbey. Size: 5cm high and 6cm wide.

The sugar bowl has the London Wheel. Size: 6.5cm high and 8cm wide.

One cup has a Guards Man from Royal Buckingham Palace and...

the other has the Old Red Telephone Box. Size of the cup: 3cm high and 4cm wide. Saucers 5cm in diameter.

And finally the tray has Tower Bridge. All beautifully decorated and finished in gold gilding. Size: 7.5cm long and 5cm wide.

This highly recommended purchase tea set also comprises of a tea pot, 2 tea cups, 2 saucers, a milk jug, a sugar pot and a tray. Presented in a red gift box.

Each item is decorated with scenes of London and has gilt detail on the handles and in the design.

An ideal gift for collectors of miniatures or unique porcelain.

Strolling down Portobello Market

Portobello Market in Notting Hill is on my lists to go to whilst in London. Because i heard so much about it from my sisters and husband, i wanted to go more than anything. No trip to London is complete without Portobello Market.

This is one of the most popular market in London. The market sells anything from antiques, knicknacks, souvenirs, cashmere sweaters, a huge range of silver items, jewellery and old pieces from the 40-80s...

Make sure you take a picture of the house with the blue door when you go there. Notting Hill was not filmed here! (i mean this house)...i really don't know where was the Hugh Grant's flat with the famous blue door located.

Near Portobello Rd, there were a couple blocks of antique shop and houses that are painted in pastel colors.

This small shop has extensive offering of tin metal sign, collectible tin cans and old records.

These collectibles are almost always reproductions.

I enjoyed looking at all the vintage advertising signs. Most tin signs are brand new but rusted to look like it's fifty years old...

This is Alice's, one of the oldest antique shops in the area, established since 1887.

They had tons of really interesting treasures such as old English china, pottery and porcelain...

Am looking at antique kitchen utensils and English silverware...tea caddy spoons and strainers. I had never seen so much antique silver before!

Christmas Lights in London

Last Dec, hubby bought me a trip to London for a week. We went to a lot of places, from their MUST VISIT sights such as Buckingham Palace up to their open market. I loved overseas market! So much different than the ones in Seoul, Bangkok, Jakarta, Perth and Singapore.

We stayed at Bayswater, very near to tube station, lots of Halal restaurant, gift shop and of course a walking distance to Malaysia Hall (pagi2 kena makan nasi, kat sini byk guna tenaga, asik berjalan aje..)

Sampai aje di London, letak bag kat hotel, terus gi jalan2 di Oxford St..hubby kata takut you jet-lag nanti kalau terus tidur.

We got to see the famous and glitzy Christmas lights along Oxford Street.

This spectacular display runs the entire mile and a half of Oxford Street.

Debenhams have spectacular Xmas light displays covering the entire building.

Christmas Market at Oxford St. Here you’ll find a range of stalls selling hand-painted Christmas gifts, food stuff and lots of other handicrafts that could make nice Christmas presents.

Tea-themed Fabrics

I have a few tea fabrics in my stash. The hard-to-find tea-themed fabrics featuring teacups and teapots captured my purse the most. I love that line of fabric, I'm trying so hard to resist buying a load, but I know I'll give in. For me, they have nice artistic touch, showing off the quality of the print.

One of the things I collect are Thomas Kinkade collectible calendar and notecards. This is my Thomas Kinkade 25th Silver Anniversary 2009 Calendar. I do enjoy some of Thomas Kinkade's seasonal paintings and see how he captured the beauty of light as the months rolls by..

This calendar is absolutely beautiful. It's hard to even choose a favorite picture because they're all so breathtaking...

Thomas Kinkade is the most collected artist in the world. Known as the Painter of Light, he creates glorious paintings from simple inspirations: home, family, friends, tradition, community, and faith in God.

Well, he is not my favorite painter...But I like the way he paints and the expression of his painting..so real and natural. They make everything in my days warm and wonderful every time I look at those picture..

In this calendar there are cottages, mountain picture with a cabin, a city street with houses on the side, a pond with a gazebo, a lighthouse and more.

All these pictures are so great. They’re really…really…really beautiful.I wish i could visit one sight of these pictures. Are they true or just imaged?

Every year when it comes to the Umno general assembly at the Putra World Trade Centre(PWTC), i've never failed to join the bazaar excitement. So, here are a little recap on the bazaar which i took part last 2 weeks.

Above is some of my online shop collection in the booth. Some of the delegates took time off from the assembly to look for items to take home as souvenirs.

I realized that the bazaar was not drawing the crowd volume it has expected but I'm doing pretty good. I brought all of my tote bags collection and vintage hankys..they were selling like hotcakes!..

For me, in business it is not all about money that you gained but the spirit and the new contacts that create energy so thrilling. I met some of the nicest ladies at the bazaar who share the same interest : Serendipity, English Cottage, Pondok Craft, Yang Dahlia from Ell's Garden and of course my dear fren Mastura from Masha Home Deco Shoppe. I was able to get personal contacts who are interested in ordering my tea cozies, cupcakes decor and some other item in the next couple of weeks.

To tell ya people the truth : I miss blogging soooo much...I am sorry I haven't kept in touch with you guys. I no longer read friends blogs or facebook. I know it's been a while since my last post, but you know how it is... my routine: entertaining the kids, updating new collection, taking pictures & orders, packing parcels, answering emails and not forgetting tons of SMSes..Sigh!

Anyway, we're back from our shopping trip almost 3 weeks ago. Most of the new collections have been up for sale in my website. I've added lots more vintage/collectible stuff to the web shop today. There're a good mixture of things so do stop by when you get a chance. I'll be adding more new stuff for Hari Raya soon too...If you've never been to my web site before, than this is a perfect time to check it out.

It is summer rain when we reached Seoul.In case you’re wondering why so many rainy days, July is considered Korea’s rainiest month.

Koreans love to shop. It happens 24 hrs a day. We spend sunny evening strolling at Myeongdong - a very happening place with lots of people shopping and strolling around all the time.

If you noticed, the shops look the same at every corner and most of the shop signboards are in Korean...I bet you can easily get lost wandering around..:)

I'm pretty happy with this new curtain. I know, for some people, this might not your typical combination of fabrics. But for me it works and absolutely gorgeous...perasan!:)

Linen Tea Towel

I did not know that collecting linen tea towels were so popular until i went to Kak Intan's home sweet home and found her collection hanging over the tea towel rail in the kitchen.

And my "little hobby" began...when my sisters or friends went overseas, I would ask them to bring back a tea towel..but since they seem too nice to be used, so they sit in a drawer! Here’s a few of my favorite ones from my own linen closet:

Many tea towels were made of Irish linen, and a lot of the ones you find today are made by Ulster Linens. Above pic is Ulster Weavers 100% Linen tea towel in a design called Provence. A Royal Doulton one colour fleur-de-lis design.

I like the Harrods towel with the cups and saucers. This stylish linen tea towel is decorated with a selection of beautiful china tea-cups…They are lovely.

Tea Towels:
One may first look at a tea towel and be curious as to what purpose they serve. Absorbent in nature they serve as wonderful kitchen towels because they instantly soak up any water without shedding the annoying fibers that terry towels often leave behind, and also dry at a much faster rate. For a classier type of practicality they were originally made to set under the tea pot and tea cups to beautify the arrangement and also catch any runaway drops of tea. Tea towels are also commonly used to decorate a kitchen or bar. As they are either very witty or decoratively designed, they lend themselves to wall hangings very well- particularly when framed.

Irish printed Tea towels came in to use in the early 50's when the Irish began to replace plain linen tea towels with printed towels producing conversational interest. These early towels ranged from maps of Ireland to pictures of the Beatles. They were always executed with the subtlest expression typical to Irish dry wit. Now some of these towels have become collector items.

My Sister's Graduation Day

Last Saturday was my sister's graduation day. The ceremony was held at IPBA(International Languages Teacher Training Institute). Here are some photographs taken whilst at my sister’s graduation last week:

She was the only Malay student who got First Class Honours in B.Ed.TESL programme from University College Plymouth St. Mark and St. John, UK. She also received an Excellent Student Award for examplary performance in 4 years of study in the programme. “Way to go Kak Yang...”

Of course we're soooo proud and happy for her!

After the ceremony, the whole family, 16 of us went to Victoria Station to celebrate the day. Congratulation Nur'Izzati !!

Happy Anniversary To Us

Today is our Anniversary. On this day, 9 years ago, i married this handsome fella *grin*!! Thank you, my dear sweet husband, for all the happy years.

This photo was taken about 9 years ago (a note to ourself: "puasa taun ni kite diet Yang! hehe..."). When I look at the picture all I can think of is how happy he makes me. How he filled my life with his love and friendship. How he cares for me and how we've built a beautiful life together. But mostly it reminds me how blessed I am to be loved by him.

I thank you for all your patience and love during our journey together. May Allah preserve our love and our relationship until death do us part. Amin. I love You !..

It's been really a busy week for me; with husband who was warded for dengue fever (discharged after 4 days), having kids around the house, taking orders, new stocks arriving etc...are taking up all my time and energy and makes me feel like Super Woman...!

Vintage Handkerchief

Collecting pretty and vintage handkerchiefs has become a wide-spread and popular hobby for many people. For me, they are the perfect collectible... because they are inexpensive, useful, decorative and become a souvenir or momento from a loved ones...

Well, today I thought I would share some of my vintage hankerchiefs (they are for sale)...Most of the vintage handkerchiefs that I have available were purchased from overseas. They'll come to you clean, fresh, and ready to use, gently folded and sealed in plastic.

My fav type of hankies ranging from floral, embroidered and lace, designer label and retro style.

I love their floral prints with bright colors and intriguing designs...

Well, I still remember I used to carry one too when I was in primary school because my nose always sweating. But over the years I lost most of them.

And now I really adore the look of vintage handkerchiefs.

Ok girlies! I'm finally home from my trip. I had so much fun finding lot's of new goodies for the shop. My husband and I spent most of the time looking at all the wonderful new items which will be getting in the shop in the coming weeks.

Of course our buying trips to Korea will always unearth some lovely and gorgeous home decoration. I'm really pleased with everything we've found.

Quite a few of you have been emailing and calling to ask when you can start buying.. Actually I was working around the clock updating the stock...Some of them are all being shipped and should be here in a few days.

Thanks to everyone who has left me text messages, emails etc. I really do appreciate all the kind messages, despite failing hugely to respond..

Last Sunday, me and the kids were at Putrajaya Lake Club to support my husband in the Oxford and Cambridge Society Malaysia Boat Race 2009. This year was the special edition of 50th Anniversary Boat Race!

Pink Booth...

Every year, me and my mom will participate in UMNO Assembly General Meeting exhibition/trade show at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) and this year was no exception. It’s five days (24-28 March) of very intense packing, unpacking, setting up, chatting with hundreds of people and more packing at the end of it all.

It’s tiring as heck, but so much fun, though! Since I had my camera with me, I took some pictures of my booth for those of you that couldn’t make the show last weekend.

Although this was not my first year participation, but this was my first time selling home decor item at the show and i didn't quite know what to expect, i kept the booth fairly simple and went with bright pink and brown to make the display pop and catch the passers' eye. Before this, i'm selling women accessories n costume jewellery during the event.

The crowd was good and cheerful and the vendors were so sweet and happy to see familiar faces.. I love getting to know these people who love to hunt for treasures like the rest of us do..

The whole experience was so exciting.. One of the best parts was meeting some of the many other talented designers and client who offered not only insight and advice but warm smiles and a great sense of friendship..

We had an eye-catching display showcasing all kind of brooches, pins, bracelets, and necklaces in a red and pink accent color..

I'm exhausted from the show - but it's well worth it. I'm getting good feedback on my designs and my booth display.

Last week, me and a good fren of mine wandered over to one of the faboulous British designer label, Laura Ashley warehouse for a peek. Hmmm..I don't actually buy much stuff from Laura Ashley... but I do love her fabrics, chandeliers and kitchenware..i think I love most of her collection if money was not the issue..hehe..and lucky me the LA SALE was over last week..

The Finchley chair with new Tatton Cerise fabric..Many oohs & aahs....:)

This is the one that my fren was looking for..an ivory iron bed..and OMG this Somerset Bed is really too die for :)

I just love the Milner floral bone china range..decorated with pretty pink and red floral print..And this is what i did: I picked them up. Put them back. Picked them up again. And put them back.

I like the Dorothy pair of hook (the one with the teacup)and the Maisie hook (rose design).. they are available in raspberry, duck egg, chalk pink and crem color.

i love it - great style with class and tradition!

Just a sweet collection of duck egg blue ceramicware! And I'm slowly tried to fall in love with the color..:)
